Stelios has led the company’s efforts since 2005. He holds a PhD in mathematics from Cambridge University and has carried out research at the Mathematical Institute at Oxford.
Professor Chris Holmes / scientific adviser
Chris helps direct mathematical research. He is a Professor with the department of statistics, Oxford University. Chris’ research interest lies in the field of machine learning and pattern analysis via probabilistic data modeling and the use of subjective probability theory as a unified framework for coherent inference.
Professor Nicolai Meinshausen / scientific adviser
Nicolai helps direct mathematical research. He is a University Professor, department of statistics, Oxford University. Nicolai’s research specialty comprises sparse high-dimensional data, Machine learning, Multiple testing and Monte Carlo methods for decision problems, central research themes on predictive algorithms.
Xavier Manach / software engineer
Xavier maintains, develops and extends core infrastructure and systems. He has over 15 years of experience and specialises in scalability and performance.
Matt Bray / software engineer
Matt develops the billmonitor frontend and analytics tools. He has 7 years of development experience and holds an MPhys from Oxford University.
Pascal Briet / consultant software engineer
Pascal develops all the systems that make billmonitor work. He holds a MEng in Software Engineering from EPITA Paris.
Thomas Nichols / chief technical officer
Thomas is responsible for product development and delivery, using Lean continuous improvement practices. He has been developing software and building development teams for over 25 years, using Agile/Kanban and encouraging a near-obsessive focus on quality. He develops the billmonitor frontend.

Robin Klein / adviser
Robin is co-founder of The Accelerator Group (TAG), an active investor in early-stage technology companies. TAG numbers amongst its investments: LoveFilm, Stardoll, Moo, Zoopla, Wonga and many others. Stelios started talking to Robin about backing Optimor/billmonitor back in the summer of 2007. Robin has a Masters Degree in Engineering – he graduated when computers were the size of small buildings.
Ivar Gribnau / adviser
Ivar is a director at UPC, a subsidiary of Liberty Global, and has held senior positions at easyGroup. He started his career with easyJet when it was still loss-making, operating from an orange painted shed alongside the runway of Luton Airport with just 3 leased Boeing 737s. Ivar is helping out with strategic, commercial and positioning advice.
Max Alexander / adviser
Max is MD for Innovation and Business Development at Taltalk Group and Best Buy Europe, and has held senior positions at Trinity Mirror, Mviva and Carphone Warehouse. He started his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co and is a (barely) qualified barrister.
