International law firm Bird & Bird and City A.M have identified the Digital Innovators finalists as Billmonitor, Cera, digi.me, FiveAI, Pavegen and what3words. The two winners will be announced this summer for each of the "life changer" and "market transformer" categories.
Of the announcement, Billmonitor’s Managing Director Klaus Henke says:
It is great to see that Billmonitor’s initiative to bring more transparency to the mobile phone market and to help consumers and businesses to reduce their bills is being recognised. However, there is still a long way to go before we have achieved full market transparency.
In late 2017, the Digital Innovators Power List identified 50 of the freshest and most inspiring digital companies impacting the market. The companies were selected based on those which have the most captivating stories of innovation; are at growth stage; have secured institutional funding; are based in and around London; and are creating a buzz in the media. The list was then whittled down to 10 companies, who were offered an opportunity to showcase their initiatives in front of an audience and panel of judges in January 2018.
Announcing the selection, Bird & Bird released a statement saying:
The six finalists have been chosen as leading examples of digital companies which are truly changing people's lives or transforming businesses in their respective markets. Judged by a panel of digital experts and supporting partners, an overall winner will be identified this summer. The two winners will receive professional support to take their businesses to the next level.
